"We invest in the Economy League because they understand Greater Philadelphia's current and future opportunities and challenges, and they help citizens, leaders, and organizations understand them, too. It is imperative that there is an independent voice doing this work on behalf of our region and its residents." — Feather Houstoun, President, William Penn Foundation

The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia was founded in 1909 around a fairly simple idea — that to be a successful, prosperous and well-run region, we need to rigorously examine Greater Philadelphia’s challenges and opportunities. The Economy League serves as a civic catalyst — a place where in-depth analysis and committed regional leaders come together to develop new ideas, conceive creative strategies, and forge meaningful partnerships to make Greater Philadelphia a world class place to live, work, and play.

As we prepare to celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2009, the Economy League, much like the region, is entering into the next phase of its development. A new three-year business plan emphasizes our role as a civic organization committed to using research, communications, and leadership development to address the toughest issues Greater Philadelphia faces today while convening others to develop and implement a long-term vision for our future.

To do the work that will ensure a world class future for Greater Philadelphia, the Economy League requires a broad and sustainable base of financial support. Currently, approximately half of the Economy League's revenue is generated through corporate investment. The balance is derived from projects and initiatives funded by local governments, foundations, corporations, and private sector leadership organizations.

We hope that you will join the growing number of foundations, corporations, institutions, and individuals who have already demonstrated their commitment to our region's future by becoming an investor.
